Press Release

San Diego, California – March 1, 2015–History buffs and coin collectors across the globe are already expecting the release of the Al Capone silver coin.

It will be available on May 2015 through Coins Boutique, which is a division of Art of Craft. The collectible coin features the wanted poster of the infamous gangster. It is an exclusive project of Art of Craft and part of the History of Public Enemies collection.

Al Capone is one of the most popular American gangsters from the Prohibition Era. It was the time when there was a ban in the sale, production, and transportation of any alcoholic beverages in the United States. The ban started on January 16, 1920 and repealed on March 22, 1933. Prohibition was a major blow to the alcoholic beverage industry and the repeal resulted to thousands of new jobs in the industry. During that time, black market was created, and it was controlled mostly by mobsters, such as Al Capone.

It was during the Prohibition Era when Al Capone, also known as Scarface, built his notoriety in Chicago. He started out as part of Johnny Torrio’s street gang. He rose up the ranks until he became an influential lieutenant of the organization. Then he became the boss when Torrio retired after an assassination attempt. The infamous St. Valentine’s Day Massacre was attributed to Capone even if he was in Florida when it happened.

Despite Al Capone’s criminal activities, he has legions of fans following all his exploits that include racketeering and bootlegging. That’s why his collectibles are always in demand. In 2011, his revolver sold for more than $100,000 at a Christie’s auction. And on May 2015, collectors have a chance once again to own a piece of Al Capone with the release of the 1 oz Silver Coin from Art of Craft. It is your chance to own the next big thing in modern numismatics. Its mintage is limited to only 1038 pieces.

The Al Capone 1 oz Silver Coin 2015 is not like any other silver coins on the market today. The coin has a rim made from real recycled brass rounds. This is the first-time rims from rounds were inserted in silver coins. Each rim has been cut from real round and has its own stamp on the primer. That makes each Al Capone silver coin unique. It has an antique finish that makes the coin an ideal collectible value for people who love the Amrican History.
