Coin featuring the Knights of Malta and an Ottoman soldier, weighing two troy ounces and struck in ultra-high relief antiqued silver. The second commemorative coin from the productive partnership between the Central Bank of Malta and Germania Mint features the Knights of Malta and an Ottoman soldier. This series of one-of-a-kind bullion coins makes a contemporary allusion to the history and achievements of the Order of Malta in Europe. The collection will be the result of joint efforts between the two organizations, fusing their artistic visions with their respective strengths in minting and precious metals, as well as marketing and distribution. The Great Siege of Malta in 1565 was the most pivotal battle for Europe and is depicted on the obverse of the second coin in the series. The coat of arms of the Central Bank of Malta is displayed on the shield held by a Maltese knight on the reverse of the coin, just as it will be in 2021. There will be a limited mintage of 999 coins of the 2022 Knights of the Past 2 oz ultra high relief silver coin, each of which will come with a certificate, unique ennobling, and special packaging.
