The 1 Troy oz. of.999 fine silver used to mint the 2022-W American Silver Eagle coin was minted in the United States.
The West Point, New York, facility of the United States Mint struck the coin.This coin has a diameter of 40.60 mm.To combat counterfeiting, the minted coin features a novel interrupted reeded edge.
The coin is a collectible First Strike.The label, which features an American flag design, complements the perfectly graded coin.
The obverse depicts a flag-draped Liberty, holding laurel and oak branches in the dawn light. Adolph Weinman's Walking Liberty Half Dollar provided the inspiration for this design. The year "2022," the national motto "IN GOD WE TRUST," and her name, "LIBERTY," are all inscribed on the obverse. Adolph Weinman left Germany for America when he was just a teenager. He was a famous sculptor who played a major role in the revival of American coinage at the turn of the twentieth century.
On the flip side, artist Emily Damstra depicted a soaring eagle preparing to land with an oak branch in its talons. The words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "ONE DOLLAR," and "1 OZ. FINE SILVER" are inscribed along the circumference of the coin. You'll also notice the statutory motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" engraved there. U of M alumna Emily Damstra has some impressive credentials. Since 2017, her artwork has been featured on U.S. currency.
Within the first thirty days after its issue, this 2022-W Burnished American Silver Eagle coin was submitted to the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) for evaluation. The one-ounce silver dollar was evaluated as being in Specimen 70 condition because it possessed a strike that was done flawlessly, flawless surfaces, and exceptional eye appeal. The coin is presented in a protective container that has been sonically sealed by PCGS. On the holder is a certification label designed in the style of the American flag that verifies that the currency is a First Strike.
