The 2023 Silver Libertad will be Mexico's 42nd annual silver Libertad release.The oldest mint in the Americas, Mexico, mints 999 pure silver Libertad coins every year. The obverse features the Mexican coat of arms, with 10 different iterations of the national seal around it. From 1921 to celebrate the centennial of Mexico's independence from Spain, a gold bullion coin, the Centenario, was issued. This design was used for the obverse of the Mexican dollar from 1982 to 1995. Both the original 1996 design and the newer one feature "The Angel of Independence," a famous statue in the heart of Mexico City.
