The Argali is the largest species of wild sheep found in western East Asia's highlands, including the Himalayas, Tibet, and the Altai Mountains. Each of these stunning coins has a front facing view and a side profile of an argali on the reverse. The side profile view is rendered in ultra-high relief, with incredible detail given to the fur and horn. The argali's front view is expertly struck so that it appears to be a ghosted image in the background. This effect is created by combining razor fine detail and relief. The obverse depicts an argali's corkscrew horns in ultra-high relief, and the tilted effigy is shown where the argali's face is. The background features a one-of-a-kind geometric pattern with the hidden "2022" date etched into the design.
