Morgan and Peace proof silver dollar set NGCX PF10 Early Releases X label USA 2023. On the NGCX scale, 10 is the highest possible score. Everyone knows that after a 10, grades gradually decrease. George T. Morgan (1845-1925), Mint Chief Engraver, created the design for the Morgan Dollar, which was in circulation from 1878 to 1904 and again in 1921. During the late 19th century, this silver dollar symbolized the country's progress toward the west and into the industrial age. The new Morgan Dollar, with its stunning proof polish, was created using cutting-edge technology and archival Mint resources. A profile of Liberty graces the obverse (heads side). The word "LIBERTY" is incused into a cap, flower, and crown on her head, and she is surrounded by 13 stars, the phrase "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and the year of issue. The tails side features a spread-winged eagle clutching an arrow, an olive branch, and a wreath. Inscriptions on the reverse include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "ONE DOLLAR." In December 1921, Treasury Secretary Andrew Mellon approved the design of the Peace Dollar to replace the Morgan Dollar in honor of the end of hostilities between the United States and Germany. The iconic "Peace Dollar," created by the late, great Italian American sculptor Anthony de Francisci (1887-1964), represented America's emergence as a global superpower, paid tribute to the wartime efforts of American citizens, and commemorated the end of hostilities in World War I. The Peace Dollar, which will be released again in 2021 to celebrate its centennial, will feature a stunning proof finish. Liberty is shown in profile, with a radiant crown, on the obverse (heads side). The words "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the year of mintage appear on the obverse. The tails side features a dozing eagle holding an olive branch next to the word "PEACE." More inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and "ONE DOLLAR." Both coins are minted at San Francisco Mint. Coins will be shipped in official NGC holders.
